Apple Crisp

Looking for a quick and simple dessert?
Apple Crisp is easy to put together and tastes great served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
It is also a delicious way to use apples that are starting to go a little soft.

  • 6-8 medium apples
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ⅔ cup brown sugar
  • ⅔ cup rolled oats
  • ⅔ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg

Prepare apples: Peel and slice apples about ¼-inch thick. Place in an 8-inch by 8-inch baking dish. Sprinkle white sugar and 1 tablespoon cinnamon over apples.

Prepare topping: In a large bowl, cream butter and brown sugar. Cut in rolled oats, flour, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, and nutmeg with a pastry blender until topping forms large crumbles.

Spread topping over apples. Bake at 350⁰F for 30-40 minutes, or until apples are soft and topping is golden brown.
