
Salad 101 – 6 Steps to Creating the Perfect Salad
Salads are an excellent way to incorporate a variety of fresh, healthy ingredients into your diet. Experiment with different ingredients and dressings, and enjoy all the benefits that salads have to offer. Follow these 6 steps to prepare the perfect salad every time.

1. Choose the Right Greens
The foundation of any great salad is a bed of fresh, crispy greens. When selecting greens, opt for ones that are bright, vibrant and without any wilted or yellowing leaves. Some popular greens include spinach, arugula, kale, lettuce, and mixed greens. To add extra flavor and texture to your salad, mix up the greens and try combining a variety of different types.

2. Add Colorful Vegetables
Adding colorful vegetables to your salad is an excellent way to increase the nutrient content and add extra flavor. Try adding vegetables like cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, bell peppers, and red onions. These colorful veggies will give your salad a visual pop and are packed with vitamins and minerals. When prepping the vegetables, chop them into bite-size pieces for easy eating and mix in different textures to give your salad more depth.

3. Incorporate Protein
