What is a “CSA” farm?
Great question. CSA is an abbreviation for Community Supported Agriculture. When you sign up for our CSA, you purchase a “share” of our produce for 20 weeks of the upcoming growing season.
Our CSA membership offers you a chance to financially invest in our farm at the start of the growing season when sales are usually at their lowest and our operating costs are at their highest. Your commitment to a share enables us to invest in seeds, supplies, and equipment.

What’s in the box each week?
As a CSA member, you receive 8-12 vegetables per week — a perfect mix of must-have staples and unique artisan varieties. Your farmers curate the selection based on what’s in season, and you get exposed to fun new foods that push your boundaries and grow your palette.

“I can hardly wait for the new season!“
We enjoyed absolutely all the produce that we purchased last season. I was able to use old favorites and enjoy some new favorites. I can hardly wait for the new season. I just used some of the celery tops that I dehydrated for dinner tonight and they added wonderful flavor to the stuffed chicken breasts that we enjoyed. I have plans to use some for celery salt, too. Thank you Jason, Melissa, Hannah and Jaden for making ‘farm to table’ a wonderful experience for so many folks.

I love the freshness of everything you sell. The vegetables from larger grocery stores do not last as long without going bad. Your diverse selection, including the delicious fennel, various radishes, and lettuce, enhance my cooking with options I cannot find anywhere else.

Meet Farmers Jason and Melissa
This experience is so much more than a box of vegetables.
On our farm, we don’t just grow great-tasting vegetables. We help reconnect you to the story behind your food. We show you how to cook from scratch, what “real food” tastes like, and why knowing your farmer makes mealtime more meaningful. Our community will support you as you create new food habits that will change the way you eat forever!

Is CSA right for you?
(How can you really know?)
Let’s be honest. Not everyone will click with the CSA model, and that’s okay! We want you to be successful! Lucky for you, we have a good idea of the type of person who will jive with a weekly curated box of veggies. We’ve identified the 6 questions you should ask to help you know if our CSA farm in Hartford would be right for you. Would you like to know what they are?

We include lots of coaching and support.
We help you get thru the box!
It’s normal to wonder if you’ll be able to eat all the vegetables you’ll get each week. In fact, the first year can be hard for our rookies. That’s why we’ve built in a training support system into your membership. We teach you the cooking basics and exit strategies that will turn you into the Bob Ross of cooking!
Our private Facebook group community and onboarding program is there to help guide you — providing weekly unboxing videos, storage tips, and recipe ideas that will shortcut your learning curve to CSA mastery!

COMMON QUESTIONS ABOUT OUR HARTFORD CSA MEMBERSHIP
Can I switch my pick up location?
YES. If you’re going to do this a lot, that’s hard for our system to handle. But if it only happens every now and then, we can accommodate it. You just need to let us know 3 days before.
Do you credit my account if I miss my box?
No, sorry. Harvesting and packing your box translates to an investment on our part. We pay our crew to harvest and pack them, PLUS there’s the cost of the vegetables themselves. So we can’t replace the box a second time.
How does payment work?
No payment occurs online for CSA. We ask you to mail a 50% deposit via personal or bank check within 2 weeks of signup. If that’s too much, then just put a good faith deposit down, and make sure the balance is in by June 1, 2025.
What happens if I forget to pick up my box?
We return unclaimed boxes to the cooler. You must contact us to arrange pick up for the following day. If you fail to arrange an alternative pick up, your share will be donated.
