“Fresh market vegetables are the best.”
I am new to shopping at farmers markets for fresh vegetables. In the past the only thing I bought fresh was sweet corn. Thanks to Hessey Farmstead, I gave shopping at the market a try. Melissa’s vegetables are always fresh and consistently of the best quality! And she’s always ready with cooking suggestions and will encourage you to try something new.
I will always be a champion of fresh market vegetables, they are the best. It’s easy to think we are getting fresh at the grocery store, but in reality the vegetables were not picked less than 8 hours ago. That’s fine for out of season, but in season, farm-fresh vegetables are a treat worth savoring!

“I can hardly wait for the new season!”
We enjoyed absolutely all the produce that we purchased last season. I was able to use old favorites and enjoy some new favorites. I can hardly wait for the new season. I just used some of the celery tops that I dehydrated for dinner tonight and they added wonderful flavor to the stuffed chicken breasts that we enjoyed. I have plans to use some for celery salt, too. Thank you Jason, Melissa, Hannah and Jaden for making ‘farm to table’ a wonderful experience for so many folks.

“My bunny and I love the carrot tops.”
I love the freshness of everything you sell. The vegetables from larger grocery stores do not last as long without going bad. Your diverse selection, including the delicious fennel, various radishes, and lettuce, enhance my cooking with options I cannot find anywhere else.
The carrots with the tops left on are a favorite—my bunny and I both love them! Unlike store-bought carrot tops, which are usually slimy even in the pricier organic options, yours consistently stand out. I have not been disappointed in one thing from your farm.
And your chemical-free vegetables show that Hessey Farmstead cares about the environment as much as I do!
